One sign of a good book is that it is recommended by someone you like and whose (who’s?) opinion you value. This one was recommended by Erik Knutzen and Kelly Coyne in The Urban Homestead and the front cover says that Adam from Mythbusters also likes it. Another sign is the frequent mention of other books or authors you like within the book. This happened frequently while I was reading this book. Another sign is frequent chuckling. Check. Finally, you can tell it was an enjoyable read when you get to the last page and say (out loud) “Aw, man. I wasn’t done! I coulda read that for a few more days!”
This is just the kind of book I like to read while I’m waiting for the bread to rise, or while warming up in front of the fireplace, or in bed, or anytime really – the kind with eccentric and colorful characters, a witty voice, a pleasant pace, and a tone that is inspiring without being preachy. You just want to make something when you’re done with this book.
